The Japanese Doll Festival, or “Girls Day” as the Beastie Boys call it, is held today, March 3rd, a wonderfully adorable celebration recognized by female toddlers and creepy old men. One could wonder how backwards a society has to be to have a national holiday celebrating dolls, but then again I live in a country that eats a dumb bird to celebrate Genocide. So really, its a pot-and-kettle situation
By the time this article goes to be print I’ll be off boozin’ at the Hoboken Not-St. Paddy’s Day Celebration, and I know a few of our staffers are off to do similar thirsty activities at the Staten Island St. Paddys Day Parade come Sunday. I urge you all to join them, if not for your Irish side, than for the small little part of you that wants to play with dolls.
But for those looking for some fun distractions this Saturday morning, I honorably present this weeks AJ Blog Network Share-of-the-Week:

BLOG/TUMBLR – Disney Bound
Video – The Skating AratasI stumbled upon this insane video mistakenly thinking the Dutch band Within Temptation was going to be on the Ellen show. Instead of rocking out, I got to enjoy a couple doing a crazy skating act. The two use a special circular stage. The husband spins around while tossing his wife around like a rag doll. The best part is the big finish, when they use a special elastic chord around their necks that is attached. The husband starts by holding her up, while spinning, and eventually lets go, meaning just his neck is supporting her, while she spins around. It’s UNBELIEVABLE. Your jaw just might drop as mine did. -Kristen Mollica
Video – Llamas with Hats
A friend of mine from two jobs ago introduced me to this short video series and I love it. I love it for its wholly inappropriate subject nature; I love it for the hilarious dialogue and memorable, quotable lines; I love that it’s about two llamas who can talk! This is a strange video that, despite the outlandishness of what’s going on, is very funny and should be shared with everyone in the entire world. Or at least with anyone who has a sense of humor. The most prominent quote from the entire series: Caaarl! -Heinreich T. Sioson
Photos – Un Petit Monde
It’s been awhile since I was so enamored with a live photo set the way I am with these. I’m not sure what it is but they make me smile and the subject matter is fantastic. Seriously, have you ever felt small? Not to get all philosophical on you but these people know what that’s like. Take a look. -Kristin Gdula
Tumblr – eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Impressing girls used to be difficult. You needed big romantic gestures or tight well sculpted abs. You needed to try hard and sometimes you would still fall flat on your face, figuratively and sometimes literally. Those days though are over. These days all you need is an adorable and hilarious photo of an animal to melt a gal’s heart. This Tumblr c/o Tosh.0 blogger and comedian Mike Pomranz is your one stop shop for adorable animal needs. Also their is a repetitive song that plays automatically that will either make you giggle or make you insane. -Tim Duffy
Blog – Weird Dude Energy
Weird Dude Energy, the blog of two elegant and articulate California women is a stunning example of what it means to be a man. It covers all the basics from proper hair and dress to working out and dealing with those pesky sexual feelings towards other men. More importantly, Weird Dude Energy flow through all men, we simply need to tap into it. Single moms who are worried their child does not have a strong male role model need look no further than Weird Dude Energy. I would be twice the man I am today had I taped into Weird Dude Energy earlier. - Oren Shalev
Video – Cat Trololo
I know Trololo is “lolol”-old but this video still puts me in a good mood. I can watch it and just know everything is right in the world. At least all is right in my world. And because it’s a meme you can find trololo everywhere. There are so many versions of it you really can’t get sick of it. -Matt Conlin
